Main drain inspections are limited to main drain flow only. This is a limited inspection that is included as part of all Annual, Quarterly, and Riser inspections.

Standpipes are typically found in buildings over three stories high and serve as the waterways to move water to the upper floors. Standpipe systems include the pipes, valves, and connections arranged to provide attachment points for fire hoses.

A Fire Pump is part of a fire suppression system but is found mainly in larger facilities. There are two types of fire pumps, electric motor, and diesel engine. The fire pump is connected directly in line with the fire protection water supply and is used to boost the pressure and volume of water available in the system.

Preaction Fire System is a sprinkler system that employs closed automatic sprinklers connected to a piping system that contains air or nitrogen that may or may not be pressurized.

An antifreeze system is a specialized system found in areas where piping is subject to freezing temperatures. This system is used to protect smaller areas such as truck docks, drive through canopies, and small attics.

A dry system is s specialized system found in areas where piping is subject to freezing temperatures. This type of system is tied directly into an underground water supply but maintains constant air pressure throughout all of the pipelines past the water supply point.

A wet system is the most typical system found in the majority of office buildings and warehouses. Wet systems can only be installed in areas that are not prone to freezing temperatures.

We test all sprinkler system alarm devices, first things first. The system must not only respond to a fire but connect to and alert the local fire department for help.

We provide very detailed reports to our clients upon the completion of a fire suppression system inspection. In the most basic sense, an inspection is performed by testing and examining every part of the fire suppression system. Even if one small part has become damaged or inoperable, it can significantly impact the system’s ability to function and even deadly implications if not repaired. Parts must be kept in optimal working order with the hope they will never have to be used.

Certainly, fire inspection tests are recommended for safety, but local laws and codes also require them. Businesses cannot operate and can be closed or risk being fined if they do not comply. Tests are performed by checking the valves and draining the pipes, looking for foreign matter. This happens at four points: system valve, riser, cross main, and branch line.
