One of my favorite gifts of the week … and how I wrapped it ???? ????

Well… hot dog! We’re stocking up for visitors coming to a Chicago for the @demconvention in a few weeks and it’s been so fun! It’s also making me crave a hot dog ???? ♥️

Just when we were getting bored with dinosaurs they add stripes. And turn them into gummy candy. Or add foil. And BAM ???? … we’re right back in prehistoric love ❤️ ???? ????

Sometimes the Rodys dress up in @grtpretenders costumes and have a seance around the @squishables campfire. We can’t explain what goes on around here at night. We just let them do their thing. ????♥️

Our very first customer to ever knock on our door shared a cute new tradition she heard about recently… each year give a child a book & write in it fun or significant things that happened that year. Nothing fancy… the example she had was just a short list of like 5 things along with their name and the year. Your child ends up with a sweet collection of holiday books that are filled with memories from that year. And it’s never too late to start… her oldest is almost 15.

2025 is the year of the snake! ???? At *play we only believe in the super sweet cuddly kinda snake. ????

Adding a little life the shops again in ways big and small. When I named the shop, I always envisioned a place where people could play, discover, and explore. I feel like post Covid I got a little distracted from that mission. And even unfocused in my curation. This year my goal is to bring it all back. I’m looking forward to curating an even better selection of gifts and toys and books and interactive display pieces. Be sure to come check out the fun!

Once upon a time there was a little girl who liked to play store & school and read Green Eggs and Ham. She liked to play Barbies and build forts. She asked for an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas almost every year. Then she grew up, went to college, and got a job at a bank. But that makes for a boring story. So, one day she heard that a toy company was hiring and that, my friends, that is where the journey to *play began.
