My family had a great time supporting our Oxford Parks and Rec flag football team -- the Commanders. Our community came out and showed love for our Oxford City Schools students. It was awesome! I'm proud to live, work and play in Oxford.

What a pleasure to follow Oxford City Schools graduate Curtis Sanders as he starts his college experience at Alabama A&M University. In May, Curtis was one of the first recipients of a scholarship in my name. I had the chance to catch up with him last week and learn how things are going for him.

Recently, I caught up with Oxford High School graduate, Curtis Sanders, at an OHS football game. Curtis was one of the first recipients of the Matthew Maniscalco scholarship back in 2023.

Exciting times in Oxford! Mrs. Charlotte Hubbard has done it again. Her new restaurant, Spring Street Station, opens tomorrow and brings yet another wonderful dining option to our area. Go see Mrs. Hubbard and her amazing staff in historic downtown Oxford! They’re open 11-2 daily for lunch, with dinner starting at 5 pm. Congratulations and thank you, Mrs. Hubbard, for all the ways you promote our city!

What a privilege to spend the day with the juniors and seniors at Oxford High School’s Reality Check today. Zach and I helped the students learn more about budgeting and financial responsibly in the working world. Today’s spotlight is on 2023 Oxford grad and Matthew Maniscalco scholarship recipient, Keziah Mickler. She currently is a sophomore majoring in nursing at The University of Alabama in Huntsville, where she also is a sprinter on the indoor and outdoor track teams.
